Reasons to attend a TS support group or information session:

• If you are experiencing TS, it is sometimes helpful to see what new information there is and connect with other people who have it
• The information out there is sometimes overwhelming and it is helpful to meet with others who have already navigated through some of the stages and have learned advocacy techniques
• Parents have to walk a fine line between understanding and over protection. They are periodically faced with deciding whether or not certain actions are the expression of TS or just manipulative behaviour
• Some parents feel relief at the diagnosis of their child because it finally gives an answer for the puzzling behaviour they see, but along with the relief, parents also sometimes feel grief and despair
• Parents often experience burn-out and frustration
