About this service
Music therapy is the use of live and recorded music, facilitated by a certified music therapist, to help people grow and develop and to help them learn about themselves. Some of the activities that may be used in the program include:
Writing songs (to encourage self expression)
Playing live music (to foster self-esteem and build self confidence)
Listening to and analyzing songs (to foster insight and discussion)
Some music therapy work is in small groups where each member of the group has an individual role within an activity; other sessions are individual and focus on the specific needs of the child or teen.
Who Its For:
Current CASA clients who are enrolled in the Childrens Day Program, Adolescent Day Program or at CASA House.
