About this service
Youth Council is for youth who want to engage in a formal, resume-building, leadership program. Youth Council now incorporates the City of Calgary LEAD curriculum to add recognition to all the work the teens do throughout the year. Teens can earn a LEAD certificate that is recognized in and around Calgary, as well as on post-secondary and scholarship applications. All youth are welcome and encouraged to participate in the council but must demonstrate commitment and work ethic to attend. Youth on the council show consistent attendance to meetings and use the time to develop projects and organize volunteer opportunities and events. Youth may sit on the council year-round or choose to attend over the course of a specific project they are particularly invested in.
