About this service
The Chestermere Health Centre - School Health Program, part of Alberta Health Services, provides public health nursing support to school communities in the Calgary Zone. The support includes student vaccination services, health surveillance, and various population health initiatives. It offers school-aged immunizations through school-based programs, usually in grades 1, 6, and 9. The program also monitors, reports and responds to communicable disease outbreaks within the school community. Service access includes booking an immunization appointment by dialing 811 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Registered nurses provide these services and the support is extended to students, staff, and families requiring routine school immunization, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. It is operational across multiple community health centres within the Calgary Zone.
