Chestermere Health Centre's Best Beginning program, supported by Alberta Health Services, offers aid to pregt individuals, particularly those with low ficial means or teenagers. The program aims to prevent low birth-weight in infants, endorse injury prevention, and encourage maternal mental health by alleviating social isolation. Services include individual and group support, facilitated discussions on prenatal, postnatal, parenthood, and nutrition topics, referrals to community support agencies, food assistance through coupons, and dental referrals and family planning counseling. The participants can access these services via healthcare providers, self-referral, or other community agency referrals. Best Beginning collaborates with several organizations, including the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank and Immigrant Services Calgary.
