About this service
Chestermere Fire Services (CFS) is a professional entity that safeguards one of Canada's rapidly growing cities. It was established as a volunteer service for the Summer Village of Chestermere but has now developed into a full-time core department that provides services to the city and its surrounding regions. CFS personnel are the first to arrive at residential and commercial fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, water emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescue calls. Their principal duties are broken down into three categories: Prevention, whereby they educate local community members about fire risk reduction and readiness; Protection, where they leverage influence and regulation to secure people, property, and the environment; and Response, wherein they actively plan and prepare for potential emergencies and devise an efficient and resilient reaction to them.
