About this service
Chestermere FCSS - Adult & Senior Programs offers a variety of resources and events for older adults and seniors in Chestermere, AB and the surrounding areas. The Older Adults Coalition of Chestermere (OACC), a volunteer-led community group, advocates for and promotes the needs of older adults in the areas of medical, social, physical, mental health, and wellness. The OACC also strives to foster collaboration with municipal and provincial governments and other parties interested in the well-being of older adults. Meetings are hosted monthly at the Lakeshore Manor and all members receive agendas and meeting minutes. An Older Adults Resource Handbook is available in both digital and print formats, offering resources relevant to older adults. The Coalition contributes regularly to Chestermere Anchor News Magazine and CFTR The Rogue Chestermere Radio. The program also provides mental health resources, snow clearing services, stress management tools, and an affordability payment application for eligible seniors.
