THE COMPASSINATE FRIENDS - KAMLOOPS CHAPTER

The compassionate friends is a self help organization offering friendship, education, understanding and hope for bereaved parents. We promote and aid parents in position for resolution of grief experienced on the death of a child at any age from any source. Programs are: monthly meetings for sharing support. 2. Lending library books for members, professional and the public. 3. Produces a newsletter 4 times a year. 4. Supply grief recovery information packages for new families. 5. Phone visits. 6. Annual candlelight service before christmas if possible due to covid-19. 7. Visit families in hospital if possible, er, icu, and pediatrics. 8. Do training sessions for hospice volunteers. 9. Health fairs when possible. 10. Referrals from hospitals, hospice, rcmp, nurses, mental helth workers, councellors, first nations, clergy, funeral homes, physicians, family and friends.
