CHESTERMERE HISTORICAL FOUNDATION

The Chestermere Historical Foundation is an organization committed to documenting and recording the history of Chestermere. Initially founded as the Chestermere Historical Society in 1961, it was disbanded in 1994 due to lack of interest. The society reformed in 2011, maintaining the goal of preserving Chestermere's history. They have been involved in publishing three history books detailing the Chestermere area. The foundation fulfills its mission through running regular programming and exhibits, supporting local historical events, and providing resources and advocacy for the study of local history. The foundation also works to preserve and restore historic entities significant to Chestermere and to encourage research and publication relating to the area's history.
