About this organization
The Canmore Food Recovery Barn is an initiative to recover edible food waste and in return provide the food to people/families within the community.
We are striving to restore balance to humanity and its relation to the world as a whole. Food is a great place to start. Everyone needs to eat, and everyone deserves to eat well. It is within our power to restore harmony to our human relationships and the earth. Much energy goes into to the production, growth, harvesting, and distribution of food. With food waste - including at the household level - vast amounts of energy is wasted. With wasted energy comes fear, and there is much fear around food and scarcity when there need not be.
This is healing, and restoration of health, at its most basic levels.
Please remember to bring a reusable bag, and arrive a few minutes early to draw your number!
