Camrose Police Service - Victim Services Unit

Our program offers victims of crime or tragedy information, support and local referrals in accordance with the provincial guidelines outlined in the Victims of Crimes Act and the Victims of Crime Protocol.

Volunteer Advocates are highly skilled individuals whom must be certified by Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, requiring an intense 4 month online training through the Justice Institute of B.C. They must also pass an enhanced security reliability review. Our advocates provide a 24/7 response to victims which may start from the time of first response by Police to the final disposition of the case by the courts. Our volunteers are critical to the ongoing success of the agency. Without the dedication, commitment and hard work of volunteers, the organization would be unable to fulfill its mission and mandate.
