About this organization
The Nature Conservation Centre is a beautiful day use area in the southeast corner of Camrose County. This is a great place to watch birds, go for a walk, canoe, or even scuba dive. The pond is stocked with rainbow trout and a busy place for fisherman in the summer and winter. The picnic area has a gazebo and fire pits as well as a playground and washroom facilities.
In the summer of 2010, Camrose County completed the reclamation of the Blatz Gravel Pit. In addition to reclaiming a decommissioned gravel pit, Camrose County has been innovative by incorporating numerous amenities to provide wildlife habitat and a community attraction. Camrose County hopes the Nature Conservation Centre will set the benchmark for all gravel pit reclamations as we believe this project epitomizes what environmentally friendly and beautiful results can emerge from such humble beginnings
