About this service
Binge eating can evoke feelings of shame, loneliness, and a lack of control around eating that can turn something designed to bring us joy and nourishment into a scary, confusing and threatening experience. This group was developed to help you to enhance your self-awareness and identify your own personal binge eating triggers. Specific tools will be provided to help you change unhelpful patterns and habits and to discover new ways to care for yourself and to meet your needs without food. There will also be opportunity to share experiences, connect and learn from each other.
Some examples of group topics that may be explored are:
* the link between deprivation (food restriction) and binge eating
* the difference between physical and emotional hunger and identifying hunger/fullness cues
* self-awareness around your binge triggers and strategies to reduce and/or eliminate symptoms
This support group is not therapy and is not a substitute for treatment.
