About this service
The Childrens Centre is a licensed, accredited daycare located in SW Calgary. We provide 28 spaces for children aged 19 months to six years. Our programming incorporates leading edge child development and brain development research and is led by caring child support professionals who are experienced and professionally qualified for their role. The Childrens Centre is the first program of its kind to offer an integrated program suited to meet the needs of not only the typically developing child but also the needs of children that have been exposed to family violence and other forms of trauma.
Children who have been exposed to family violence are more vulnerable than their peers to social, emotional, physiological and cognitive development problems that can have long-term effects on their family, friends and community. Our focus is to prevent the cycle of violence from continuing by intervening early on in a childs development, so they can grow into healthy, positive youth and adults.
