About this service

Sagesse empowers individuals, organizations and communities to disrupt structures of domestic violence. We offer diverse programs and services across Alberta, including:

  • Peer support groups and mentorship for women who have experienced domestic violence, are at risk of being abused, or women that have been involved in sex work;
  • Capacity building workshops about the experience of domestic violence within 2SLGBTQ+ communities;
  • Education to informal support networks about how to recognize domestic violence, respond (based on the situation), and refer to the appropriate supports; and
  • We serve as the backbone agency for the Calgary Domestic Violence Collective (CDVC) and IMPACT, a provincial collective working to eradicate domestic and sexual violence.
