About this service
We offer a unique respite service which provides a Saturday program for children with special needs between 5 and 12 years of age. Our goal is to provide a fun and nurturing day for children, while parents enjoy some valuable respite time.
The programs operate on designated Saturdays from 9:30am until 2:30pm from September to June and runs out of two Renfrew locations:
Janice McTighe Centre (2050 21 Street NE)
Thomas W. Buchanan Centre (75 Sunpark Drive SE)
In order to accommodate as many families as possible, parents are asked to choose their preferred location.
The program is run by facilitators with training and experience working with children with special needs. We provide respite care for the children in a fun and engaging environment. The day is structured to include opportunities to participate in a variety of play centre activities, gross motor activities, lunch and snack times, and small group activities.
