About this service
This program is for youth youth who have regularly felt in a state of flux with their home, their supports, and their health.
Youth will:
- have the opportunity to access and explore any of these different instruments and to collaborate with others in a supportive and safe environment
- have access to and support using basic recording software
- collectively explore improvisation and songwriting
- learn and perform familiar/preferred songs
- interact with and hear professional musicians
In addition to active music making and skill development sessions, they will also receive the support they need under the specialized care of professional music therapists (MTAs).
The emphasis of this program will be the use of music as a way of:
- expressing identities
- growing independent and collaborative skills
- building supportive relationships, and;
- as an essential tool to support and maintain healthy resiliency and mental health.
