About this service
All of the participating partners in the ICU2 program have agreed to provide education and promote breastfeeding to their families. At InfantCare Alberta, our goal is to ensure easy access to this option through a partnership to secure the donation or lease of an initial minimum of 40 breast pump units. The ability to loan these units to families through our partner agencies would make it easier to facilitate a higher rate of success in promoting breastfeeding. The program works from both a community and infant perspective.
Agencies that are using our breast pumps will be wholly responsible for them. Currently the return of breast pumps through Alberta Health is sporadic at best. Our agencies are mandated through the MOU to maintain contact with the family; AHS cannot mandate the same. We are able to guarantee the government a 100% return rate on pumps, as our partner agencies take full responsibility for them per agreement.
