About this service

This property officially opened in December 2018 and offers 26-units of permanent support housing for single women. This building was made possible through split funding from the Government of Canada and the government of Alberta, the generous commitment of philanthropic donors, including Visionary donor and builder, Homes by Avi through the RESOLVE Campaign, as well as the support of the City of Calgarys Housing Incentive Program. We partner with YW Calgary for resident referrals, income testing, and 24/7 supports for the residents.

Design:

  • Counselling rooms and office space provide a safe place to work through the trauma women have faced during homelessness.
  • Common areas and kitchen are places to gather and socialize with other tenants. These rooms will also have shared computers for tenants.

Support:

  • 24/7 onsite support with intensive support.
  • Gender-specific building allows women to heal together.
  • Trauma-sensitive programming designed with differences in culture in mind.
