About this service
Offers education and support to adult patients and their families to manage their tube or intravenous feeding therapy at home. This is a specialized service for adult patients in Southern Alberta requiring enteral/parenteral nutrition therapy for a non-functioning or inaccessible gut.
Provides:
- enteral and parenteral supplies
- education to manage their care at home, usually with a support person and in some cases with Home Care support
- ongoing monitoring plus 24-hour on-call nursing support in conjunction with the primary care physician
