About this service
Have you ever wished there was someone you could talk to about your hearing loss? A sympathetic ear who understands what youre going through?
Learning to manage your hearing loss can be a challenging journey. Sometimes all it takes is some friendly support from someone who understands what youre going through.
Peer-to-Hear matches adults dealing with the challenges of hearing loss, with someone who has walked a similar path and now wants to offer support. Our volunteer mentors understand what it is to have hearing loss, to navigate the hearing health system and to take on the challenges of communication with family, friends, and work.
Our Group Mentoring Program offers on-site mentoring with small groups, a mentor and the coordinator as facilitator. The group is able to share their challenges and to learn new strategies to help overcome the hurdles of living with hearing loss. The group meets bi-weekly for an hour in a quiet space in their residence or club facility.
