About this service
Works to link hard-to-reach individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health or substance use concern to essential community services.
The SOS team supports individuals with resources needed to help turn their lives around. SOS offers specialized culturally inclusive supports to Indigenous people who have mental health or substance use concerns and experience homelessness. Supports provided include linkage to psychiatric and medical treatments, income support, housing referrals and daily living skills, which enables homeless individuals to get back on their feet so they can live in safety and comfort.
Intake to the SOS program usually occurs in shelter facilities or other community-based partner agencies. A referral can be received from any professional or can be a self-referral. The client must consent to the referral in all cases.
