About this service
Healthy Families is a collaborative home visitation program providing support to parents with newborns and very young children who are in a variety of at risk circumstances. Home Visitors typically visit with a family one time per week and can be involved with a family for as long as five years.
Healthy Families works to enhance parenting skills, improve knowledge and understanding of child development, promote health and positive family functioning and to increase connections with their community. Healthy Families is an Early Intervention Program, and it is designed to be a launching pad for families and provide the jumpstart they need to raise a healthy, happy family.
Closer to Homes Healthy Families Program provides specialized Indigenous supports for families where the youngest child is 0-3 months. These Home Visitors are specially trained to celebrate Indigenous culture and to intertwine Indigenous values into and throughout the program.
