Centre for Sexuality - One-on-One Sessions for People with Developmental Disabilities

We are continuing to offer sessions remotely and can now accommodate a limited number of in-person appointments again if folks complete a COVID-19 assessment beforehand.

We offer 1:1 sexual health education sessions for folks with developmental disabilities and their supports. These sessions are intended to enhance a clients understanding of sexual health topics, to normalize healthy sexuality, and to support clients with making informed decisions about their own sexual health. Our educators can provide information on topics such as birth control options, STIs, anatomy, decision making, communication, and media literacy. Sessions are generally one hour in length but can be longer if needed. Parents or support workers are encouraged to attend the session so they can reinforce and build on what was learned and discussed in the session.

Please note that our staff focus on normalizing healthy sexuality and do not offer interventions to modify, reduce, or eliminate specific behaviours.
