About this service
Why?
- Parents who are involved in learning based on their interests and motivation are better able to support their childrens learning
- When parents develop an awareness of their childs learning and developmental needs, the childs skills improve
- When parents get involved in their childrens education, they develop the motivation to take an interest in their personal education
How?
- Families attend the program once a week over ten months
- Adults (parents, extended family members or caregivers) learn, use and practice skills in a safe and welcoming environment
- Families make new friends and share their culture and traditions which allows them to showcase their skills and feel valued for their existing knowledge
Impact
- Parents more confidently engage in their childs learning
- Parents can make the most of everyday learning opportunities listening, talking, playing, singing, and sharing books and stories
- Parents develop new skills which can unlock their potential for learning
