Calgary Drug Treatment Court - Employment Program

In general, program participants are not eligible to work until they have successfully completed Stage 1 of their treatment. They are expected to focus on their recovery at this time. Participants must meet with Alberta Works for a thorough employment assessment before beginning work of any kind.

CDTC and Alberta Works have developed a collaborative relationship to assist participants in gaining the skills needed to enter/re-enter the workforce. Participants are referred to a Court Team employment expert who possesses the relevant knowledge, experience and awareness of the challenges our participants face when seeking employment.

Services include employment assessment, help with resume writing and interviewing skills, and money management. Alberta Works may also provide additional funding for individualized or specialized training so that our participants can upgrade their skills and become job ready.

We collaborate with local employers willing to employ participants in the CDTC program.
