About this service
Before entering a group program, the child or youth and their parent/family has to have a one-on-one session with their counsellor to see which program is the best fit. Once in the group program, at least one parent has to take a simultaneous program to learn how to support the changes their child is making. However, we encourage both parents to participate.
Children of Divorce (Ages 4-16)
Reduce the trauma from divorce or separation in children. Both children and parents participate in this 10-week program. Each of the parents is in a separate parenting group taking place at the same time as the childrens groups. Parents will learn to improve communication with their child, set healthy boundaries and develop a functional co-parenting relationship. Children will be able to share their feelings and learn coping skills.
