About this organization
A comprehensive palliative care service, including a community-based hospice, for children with serious illnesses and their families. Bereavement support for parents after death of a child 0-17 is also provided.
Consultation is provided to all clinicians in Southern Alberta.
This service provides support to children with serious illnesses and their families, including:
- ASSIST (interprofessional team) support around new diagnoses of life threatening conditions, difficult decision-making, support with transition from hospital to a community, and collaboration in comprehensive care planning
- consultative support for care of the dying child, at home or in hospital
- grief support for bereaved parents of children 17 years and younger
