About this organization
Emmanuel church was established in August 2015 to serve all Syriac Orthodox and Christian community who are living in Calgary. The church of Emmanuel is a part of the Syriac Orthodox which can be traced back to ancient Christianity and considered to be a part of the Church of Antioch.
The Patriarch Mar Ignatius Aphrem ll is the leader of the Syriac Orthodox Church all over the globe. The Archbishop Mar Elia Bahi is the leader of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Canada. Father Yousif Yousif has served the church since October 15, 2017. Emmanuel church is registered as a charity corporation under revenue Canada.
