About this organization
Central Alberta Victim & Witness Support Society is a registered charity working in partnership with the Blackfalds RCMP Detachment (formerly known as the Red Deer Rural Detachment). Our mandate is to provide support, information, referrals, and education for victims of crime or tragedy. Highly trained volunteers and staff provide emotional support, practical assistance and referral information to victims in all types of crime and tragedies including and not limited to:
- domestic violence
- sexual assault
- motor vehicle collisions
- suicide
- homicide
- missing person/search and rescue
- break and enter/robbery
- fire/multi-casualty disaster
- family/personal crisis
- sudden death
- next of kin death notification
- human trafficking
