Words Work Literacy Society (Athabasca & Area)

We provide Adult and Family Literacy Programming throughout the County of Athabasca,Adult Literacy:Volunteer tutors work with adult learners to improve their foundational literacy skills and/or their English language skills.Community Capacity:Adult group learning opportunities lead by facilitators for things such as basic computers,budgeting,English,numeracy,literacy,etc.Family Literacy:a paid facilitator works with parents and their preschool children to stress the importance of early literacy and to train parents to enable them to be great first teachers of their children which we do throughweekly sessions teaching rhymes,songs,finger play and story time.We also provide age appropriate books to children throughout our community.
