About this service
As an expression of Christian faith, we work together with people who experience disabilities to accomplish their goals and nurture communities where everybody belongs. In 1974, several years after the first successful two-week camp in the Haliburton Highlands, the purchase of a home in Waterloo for ten adults with disabilities introduced new options for residential services. Christian Horizons has since grown to include community participation support, educational services, vacation services and host family services each providing opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to share their gifts in communities where everybody belongs. An ongoing commitment to innovative faith-based service options, international partnerships, and annual family camp experiences carry on the vision that originally inspired the Reese family not only in Canada but around the world.
