Our sanctuary and hall are available for rent on a weekly, monthly, or one-time basis. SANCTUARY AMENITIES Our pews seat approximately 150 people. We have a sought after grand piano, and organ, a high powered projector and large screen, and a new sound system. There is a lobby and a quiet room for preparation. Our facility is popular for weddings, concerts, and recitals. The hall has tables and chairs to seat approximately 80 people comfortably. A sound system and projector screen are available. The kitchen features two stoves and a commercial sink and dishwasher, and is available for an additional fee. Catering is also a possibility. The hall is popular for social groups, meetings and parties. Youth Group. Wednesdays at 6:30pm, September to June, youth age 12-18 meet in the youth room in the church basement and in the hall and get up to all sorts of shenanigans. There is also shared meal on the third Monday of the month at 6 pm. PWA. The women of our congregation meet on the first Tuesday morning of each month from September to June for fellowship and to plan fundraising and special events. Our meetings begin with devotions and conclude with a potluck lunch. Please join us. Our group hosts a number of amazing events throughout the year. Some of these include: Pancake lunch on Shrove Tuesday, Spring tea with crafts, preserves and bake sale, Annual garage sale, Fall/Christmas sale with crafts, preserves and home baking, Advent worship service, written and led by members of our group. As well, we have held two fashion shows, an antique/estate sale with appraisers on site and, on occasion, we have catered dinners for outside groups (these require special consideration and arrangements). In addition to the above activities, it is a privilege and an honour for us to provide receptions for grieving families following a memorial service held in the church. The PWA is an active and growing group of over 20 women who enjoy fellowship together. We are grateful to God for our opportunities to serve St. Andrews Nanaimo. Thursday Night Girls. Thursdays, 6pm. We gather in the hall on Thursday evenings and invite anyone from the community who wants to join us for a variety of sewing and crafts. Quilting, knitting, sewing, card making, and so much more! Participants are welcome to join in the scheduled activity or use our space to spread out. Our space is well set up for sewing, and we even have machines and fabric to loan. Weve also got an abundant supply of yarn for the knitters and crocheters. For more information, visit our Facebook group. Loaves and Fishes Food Bank. Fridays 12-1pm St. Andrews hosts a food bank depot every Friday from 12-1pm. Clients can register in person during the depot time. For more information, visit the Loaves & Fishes website. Note: Unfortunately, we are not able to give out food vouchers at other times during the week. We do invite people to join us on Thursdays at our Community Lunch which is available from September to June. Community Lunch Thursdays, 11am-12:15pm. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the community lunch has been suspended until further notice. Thank you to everyone who took part, and helped out.
