About this service
BC Housing has been working with the City of Abbotsford and Fraser Health as part of a collaborative initiative to support individuals experiencing homelessness to reduce potential transmission of COVID-19 among this population. This multi-pronged approach includes
establishing a temporary emergency response centre and designated hotels to create additional capacity and safe supportive spaces for people experiencing homelessness, with a focus on people living on the streets, in shelters, or for people coming out of acute care who do not have a safe place to self-isolate if they have symptoms or test positive for COVID-19. The new site will help people experiencing homelessness to practice physical distancing measures and reduce the risk of transmission. This site is not for individuals that are symptomatic or have tested positive for COVID-19.
